Tuesday’s Magic Word

  • The headline says it all: “Glen Davis trashes a computer keyboard after being denied access to a fully booked hotel.”
  • Roger Simmons of the Orlando Sentinel: “Orlando Magic player Glen “Big Baby” Davis is apologizing for throwing a temper tantrum and breaking a computer at a downtown Orlando motel over the weekend. TMZ Sports first reported the incident, posting the hotel’s security camera video on its website.”
  • Glen Davis caused a bit of a ruckus at a Travelodge in Orlando following the Magic’s 91-89 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday.
  • Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk on Davis’ incident: “My thought: Travelodge? He’s making $6.4 million this season. Maybe I’m missing something but… Travelodge?”
  • Which NBA prospects should Magic fans keep an eye out for.
  • Head coach Jacque Vaughn is aware of what happened with Davis.
  • Tobias Harris, who’s currently nursing an ankle injury, a couple weeks away from returning to the floor for Orlando.
  • D.J. Foster of ProBasketballTalk: “It’s not very often you see a guard breakout in his 7th year, but all of the sudden Arron Afflalo is scoring like a legitimate first option. How? Location, location, location. Give Jacque Vaughn and the Magic coaching staff credit for posting up Afflalo at the elbow relentlessly, a spot where he’s a handful for defenders because of his size and strength.”
  • Afflalo is becoming one of the better shooting guards in the NBA.
  • Let the draft scouting begin.
  • The Magic showed no fight in Monday’s loss versus the Boston Celtics.
